I Can't Believe I Forgot to Take a Picture

Well, I just got back from a baby shower for a cute girl from church who is about to have her first little baby. I had a little leftover flannel and I purchased a few fat quarters from Hancocks and made some REALLY cute little burp cloths and bibs.

*sweet picture of mentioned burps and bibs*

For her sake, I hope she doesn't really have to use the burp cloths. If her son is anything like my last two children, she is in for a MESS!

(Argh. Two nights of sewing and nothing to show for it. Literally.)

My Scrappy Runner

One night I was feeling in the mood to sew, didn't really have a project in mind, and was eyeing that horrible peach-and-burgundy (really? who puts those colors together?) fabric I have had on my shelf for three years now. So I matched it with a few others from my stash and tried a new pattern ("Linda's Simple Trios" from Mostly Table Runners by Calico Printworks).

Crinkled from washing and drying.
I love how it turned out, just not the colors.

Burgundy binding -- love it!

Side note: I picked the fabric up from a free rummage table my church had three years ago thinking it might be cute with the right colors. Well, I think I thought wrong. But at least it is off my shelf, along with all my batting scraps which I pieced together. My favorite part, besides the fact it was 100% FREE? I got to practice machine quilting! Next time, though, I'm using fabric I LOVE.

Two More Done!

These are the brown and red stars. So cute!
(Did I mention I love this project?!)

Well, it took all day...

...but I did finally finish one star. Hey, the instructions are from an Amish woman. Beautiful design, but hard-to-follow steps. I think Jason did a great job picking out a project for me!
